I assume the lemon juice was added to the milk (instead of buttermilk)
because you found yourself in the predicament I am usually in - no
buttermilk in the house when a recipe calls for it.  There is a really
nifty product on the market now, POWDERED BUTTERMILK.  It keeps for months
in the refridgerator, and is perfect for those of us who find no earthly
use (other than cooking) for the stuff.  Just mix with the dry ingredients,
and add the normal amount of water (or milk).
