Another Utensil
A year or two ago I purchased a grain mill, thinking that making my own flour
would be my next step from basic breadmaking. However, pressures of a job
ended my habitual breadmaking, and the mill sat dormant for a while (and it
wasn't cheap - about $25; it's a big one).

Then I learned to put it to good other uses. It's much more elaborate than
using a mortar and pestel to grind spices, but it does work.
And for mashing chickpeas for hummus it does a better job than anything else
I've ever encountered, including a food processor. I'm sure there are more
uses that are just waiting for me to discover.
