I'm not sure what you mean by "ridiculously" greasy, but perhaps the
following points may help:
       1) the tortillas should be at room temperature before you
          put them in the oil.
       2) the oil should be hot, but under the smoking point
       3) after removing the fried chips, drain excess oil by
          covering with paper towels.
Point 3) is self-explanatory. The reason for the first two points
is that the deep frying process should commence immediately, so that
the hot oil will force the moisture out of the tortillas very quickly,
rather than having the tortillas absorb too much oil.
