Re: The Ultimate Dessert

Thanks to jcwinterton for the info on The Ultimate.
I have had this dessert many times and can attest to
its true Ultimateness.

An interesting sidelight:  Here in the Ontario sector
of the Great White North restaurants must have a special
(and often difficult to obtain) liquor license to serve
liquor.  Several unlicensed Toronto restaurants have been
listing a certain mysterious dessert called "Strawberries
Romanoff" for some years now.  Curious as to what this
might be, I ordered it and was pleasantly surprised to
find out that it was in fact The Ultimate by another name!
It turns out that it is a standard ploy to enable unlicensed
restaurants to serve liqueurs after dinner.  Intelligent
(and sneaky) patrons who prefer their Grand Marnier straight
would order "Strawberries Romanoff, hold the fruit".

Cheers.  Seamus of Toronto  (decvax!utzoo!utcsrgv!jrc)
