the last word on toast
andy tannenbaum (whose nickname was "the tribble" in college -- oops, sorry,
andy, was i not supposed to tell?) and the british notwithstanding, i find
that hot toast (and its single variant, hot Toast) can be delicious and
satisfying. especially since my roommate moved out and left his mother's
toaster behind by mistake. but for those of you not quite so fortunate,
who haven't *got* a toaster or a broiler or anything more viable than
a yellow bic lighter, i've got a suggestion: did you know that you can
eat toast raw? that's right! raw! here, then, is my raw toast recipe
(i may copyright this, so don't you dare steal it)...
mikey's raw toast
buy sliced bread from supermarket.
prepare as you would normal toast, but
stop just before you toast it.
may be eaten with or without butter, honey, jam, or hot sauce (see
preceding messages for tacos). if you're using wonder bread, i recommend
some kind of topping; wonder bread on its own tastes like a mattress after
the second bite. that wasn't political.
keep up the good cooking, folks, and i'll look forward to seeing *your*
favorite toast variation right here in net.cooks! flame on high!
