Chocolate Cake (for chocolate addicts only)
This is the best, most chocolatey cake I've ever had.  Definitely not for
people who don't like chocolate!

3 oz. unsweetened chocolate
2 1/4 cups sifted cake flour (or 2 c. all-purpose flour, 1/4 c. cornstarch)
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup butter
2 1/4 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup sour cream
1 cup boiling water

Melt chocolate, cool.  Sift dry ingredients together.  Cream butter, add
brown sugar, add eggs.  Beat until light and fluffy (~5 minutes).  Beat in
vanilla and chocolate.  Stir in dry ingredients alternately with sour cream.
Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin).  Pour at once into 9" greased
and floured cake pans.  Bake @ 350 for 35 minutes or until center springs
back when touched lightly.  Cool 10 minutes in pans, remove from pans and
cool completely.  Frost.

Frosting:

4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1/2 cup butter
1 lb. confectioner's sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 tsp. vanilla

Melt chocolate and butter.  Combine rest of ingredients in another bowl.
Mix together.  Set bowl in pan of ice water, beat until thick enough to
spread.
