Simple student fare
I know I am not the only poor student on the USENET.  I would
like to share a very inexpensive, very convenient, very good re-
cipe with you.

I like to make this when I have come in at 2:00 am, and am too
tired for anything else.

Take one whole small carrot, or half of a medium carrot.  Grate
coarsely.  (approximately $ .03)

Take one to one and a half ounces of cheese.  Grate finely.  (ap-
proximately $ .25)

Take one medium Pita bread. (approximately $ .20) Cut in half and
open the pocket.  If you put the halves in the toaster for about
thirty seconds the pita is less likely to tear.

Take one tablespoon mayonaise, (approximately $ .20) combine with
grated carrot and cheese, mix until it forms a paste, then com-
bine with (secret ingredient) one quarter teaspoon of tumeric.
(approximately $ .01) The paste should now be a bright yellow.
Never mind.

Now smear paste inside the pockets of the pita.  Total cost, less
than $.80.

Spicy people may add a pinch of cayenne.
