Fifth Shuttle Flight Will Probably Not Land at KSC
Hugh Harris, spokesman for NASA, said today that the space shuttle
will probably not land on the 15,000 paved runway at Cape Canaveral
on its fifth flight, the first operational one, tentatively scheduled
to blast off on 11 November, 1982.  Harris said that the early morning
landing scheduled for STS-4 at Edwards Air Force Base will probably not
provide a landing in cross winds, which prevail at KSC.  He said that
the shuttle flight in the spring of 1983 will probably be the first to
land at KSC.
