Shuttle Plants and Security
Plants grown on STS-3 were apparently confused by the lack
of gravity, but grew well nonetheless.  Some twisted about
in several directions and even sent roots out of the soil.
Data obtained is hoped to help provide information on how to
grow plants in space.

The Air Force says that future military shuttle missions will
be restricted in the sense of what gets out to the public.
Some things, like live TV beam downs, will be held off or
restricted so that the public does not get an idea of what
the military is doing.  The astronauts themselves may be
restricted.  NASA does not like this, as it prides itself
on its openness towards the public, buts high level talks are
going on to discuss future possibilities.
