Geologists are now beginning to be concerned over the long
term effects of the space shuttle on the Earth's environment.
Specifically, engine output particles could be bodies around
which ice may form, blocking sunlight, and thus lowering
global temperatures (though they agree that at the worst, with
50 annual flights, temperature would fall 1/10 degree)

The biggest problem is the SRB plume, which contains acid that
may be harmful to plants, people, etc.
