The computer problem was the actual problem that
delayed the launch until mid-morning so that they
could strip the Challenger of its multiplexor-
demultiplexor and fly the part here.  Once it
was installed and tested, the started to load
the external tank.  Launch was achieved at 1010
EST.

The helium leak you refer to was fixed by manually
opening and closing a valve.  Pressure was then
maintained.  The data-relay system problem was
in the multiplexor-demultiplexor.  It is used
to convert data from the ship to data suitable
for mission control.
