Another Columbia note:

       The APU oil problem was explained as leakage of hydrazine fuel
around a carbon gasket into the oil, causing a chemical reaction which
produces a soapy, waxy polymer chain, which clogs the oil filter, causing
it to be bypassed automatically, which will work, but is hazardous.

       APU 2 was not affected by this problem, as it was a replacement
for an APU which malfunctioned during STS-1 flight.
