Thanx for the responce.  I too am interested in the space program.  Just out
of curiosity, are you familiar with the SPACE digest?  I had the impression
that net.columbia was just for fast, recent updates and the SPACE digest was
for the extended discussion.  Anyway, thanx again for the summaries.

yes, i am familiar with the space digest.  there
was talk earlier about whether or not to merge
net.columbia with fa.space or make it a digest
like space.  however, i pointed out that the one
drawback of digest form is that it takes the currency
out of the news, being distributed at least one day
after all the articles.  net.columbia is not only for
updates, tho that is mostly what has been going through
it.  i'd like to see some discussion going through
it too.  i do not mean for it to compete with fa.space
or vise-versa in any way, tho -- both serve their
distinct purposes.  the main objective is to keep people
informed and to provide a ground for discussion.  if
that is accomplished by a combination of both newsgroups,
than the objective is accomplished.
