fuel spill
As tile replacement is slightly ahead of schedule (89
back as of yesterday), launch director George Page
said that most of the repair work should be completed
by 13 October.  He said a new launch date in early
November was very possible and that late October was
``very optimistic.''  A new date is expected to be
announced after a high level conference on Friday.
Tuesday, workers are scheduled to try again to load
the Reaction Control System with nitrogen tetroxide
fuel.

In another announcement, officials believe that they
have solved the overpressurization problem with the
SRB's and, as such, the shuttle will carry its payload
of scientific instruments and the mechanical arm
when it takes off.
