The delay of the second launch will probably delay the third also,
NASA officials say. In two weeks, they will announce a new launch
date, hopefully for late October to early November. Only minor damage
was found in the Forward Reaction Control Pod, including 15 thermal
blankets soaked with nitrogen tetroxide and some wire bundles and
other materials turning brown. Also, at least 338 tiles either
fell or were pulled off the shuttle. Tile repair crews will begin
work next week and will work in 3 shifts, 24 hours a day, 7 days
a week in order to put the tiles back on.
