Re: vi "ab" command bug
This is not a bug.  Typing something on the bottom line is considered
input mode.  It's useful for substitute commands and searches, not to
mention ! commands.

You probably should pick an abbrevation that's not one letter long,
since that's kind of dangerous anyway.
