Menlo Job Control for 2.8BSD

Is anyone using the Menlo Job Control code on a non-overlaid PDP11.
I have  PDP11/44 and want to know if there will be any problems in
bringing it up.  Also what types of bugs were encountered?  The last
thing that I noticed, is that in the C Library interface code, there was
some Vax Assembler.  Has anyone the PDP11 code to replace it?
