Re:  problems with f77
There is a bug with f77 computed gotos, as a result of the mkstr process.
Somehow, a newline is left out at the end of  the generated jump code (asm).
The assembler barfs at the lines. For now until its found, you can get
around this by inserting the newline into the assember source that the
compiler produces.
