dataflow machines
Arvind flew down here from MIT last night and we talked
for a few hours.  He says that the japanese are working
on a dataflow machine.  The "rumor" version of this is
that they feel that the US has conventional computers
pretty well sewn up, so they feel that they will get a
head start on the next generation of computers.

In case anyone doesn't know who Arvind is, he is a professor
at MIT working on dataflow languages and architectures.
He and Kim Gostello (at UC Irvine) wrote ID and he is currently
working on a prototype computer to execute it.

Arvind has also heard a rumor that some company in the Northwest
(maybe Seattle) ran an ad announcing that they were about
to start selling a dataflow machine.  Did anyone see this
ad, or know something about this?
