where's the innovation

Hohum. Yet another company making a microcomputer-based
"workstation". All this sound-alike hardware. Is it really a
case of a lot of "me too, me too" hardware work going on?
What's going on in the way of innovative software? All you ever
hear about there is "office automation". Boring. Office
automation is a market of the present, not the future. Where's
the thinking that ought to be going into "home environment
support systems" and stuff like that?
Maybe the smart people are just doing it without talking about it.
