Bit-map for the Wicat
>From RI@MIT-XX Mon Feb 22 09:13:06 1982
I have been in touch with Howard Gordon of Peninsula Research, which is
marketing the WICAT.  When I asked him about bit-map availability for
the WICAT, and told him of its importance for a workstation, he replied
in a letter dated November 1981.

". . . Peninsula Research is working with Andy Bechtolscheim of Stanford
University to integrate his graphics and Ethernet boards with WICAT
hardware.

"We will perform our first integration tests in mid-December with the
graphics card installed in a WICAT System 150.  Assuming we encounter no
major problems, we should have a working prototype of a complete work
station with bit-map graphics, Ethernet, MC68000, 256KB RAM, 10MB
Winchester, 1MB floppy, and WICAT software in January.

"It is our expectation that WICAT will take the work station into
production in early 1982.  The total package would retail for
approximately $12,000."
