You are right, there is a need for the ability to run foreign software
on a person's workstation.  Since there is a plethora of software (no
comment on the quality thereof) for CP/M, I am in the process of
emulating CP/M-80 on an 8086 based system (Convergent Technologies to
be exact).  I am not providing a CP/M development environment only an
environment suitable for executing existing software.  I have had good
response from my user community on this one.
