And what about providing parallel alternative file systems for
differing applications. Eg: Stream where Stream is good, and
char where character is good (pipes).  Make each system consistent
within itself and transparent to the end user.  The system
developer can choose the file TYPEs s/he would be able to use
the most efficiently and blasto.
