float sim
>From MBM@MIT-XX Thu Oct 22 12:39:34 1981
We just repaired our KT11 so that mfpi works correctly (took about 5 min)
We also modified the simulator to use mfpi; the same code now works for
both i/d and non- .  Rumor has it that DEC wwill approve this mod to
the board if you have maintenance (maybe they will even do it for you).
We also have a "modify the code to call subroutine" hack similar to the
one described.  It makes it go roughly 2x as fast in real time.  It
has been further proposed to stuff a simulator in the kernel, on the
grounds that you could then run any executable, but we havent done that
(yet).  (Would seem offhand that the scheduler would proably not charge
such a job sufficiently for all that emulation...has anyone else done
this?)
