have one more disadvantage. With the standard FP simulator, you can
take the object code and execute it on a machine with floating point
(at full speed), or on a machine without (VERY slow). With those
changes, on a machine without FP, it will run (slowly) and on a
machine with it will run (slowly, since it won't use the hardware FP).

I guess each person will have to make their own tradeoff.
