While I hate to clutter the list still further with this stuff, perhaps
a suggestion will help end this hubub about changing "rm".

If you feel that "rm" is too dangerous, or too unfriendly, you
may also wish it had a nicer name, like "delete", or "remove".

Instead of tinkering with a perfectly good command, why not write your own?
Call this new command "remove", and make just as friendly and safe as you
want.

Sure, rm will still be there, lurking, but you will have saved yourself
a lot of hassle with any purists (such as the people who write command
files that you will run).  The users you want to be friendly to can't be
expecting the name "rm" (or you wouldn't have to be that friendly to them),
and the people who KNOW what rm does won't be annoyed at what they might
have termed your "meddling".
