Robust Tar
>From guyton@RAND-UNIX Tue Sep  1 17:00:35 1981
I've mailed off to JMETZGER a slightly more robust version of the
4.0bsd Tar that I've used to read bad tapes.  A few details in case
anyone else is interested in getting it:

 a) It "recovers" after reading bad tape blocks during the "t"
    and "x" commands.

 b) If a bad data block is read, it is discarded and the name
of the file with the missing block is logged.

 c) If a bad directory block is read (directory blocks contain
information about the following file, they're not real unix
directory blocks), that block and the following data blocks
are discarded until a valid directory block is encountered.
Warning msg produced for each block skipped.
