 Fancy LS Programs
From:      Doug Kingston <DPK@BMD70>
Many people have modified or rewritten versions of LS with
added features.  We currently have two LS type programs on the system.
LS - essentially the usual LS, and LSS which knows how to list sideways
like so:

% lss -a
.      a       c       e       f
..     b       d       f
%

Note that the columns read DOWN.  Unfortunately we do not have the source
to this program (a relic of some ancient distribution) and we want to
replace it with a known entity (it has some STRANGE bugs).

Who has the neatest, most portable LS which at a minimum lists
sideways.  We have most if not all of the recent distributions and
will be happy to arbitrate arbitrarily whatever entries we hear about.
So don't delay, just sit down and zip a note off to "DPK @ BRL" with
your favorite.  I will report back with a summary of capabilities
when the replies have died off.

                                       DPK
