so now that we're on the list...
Info-printers is now being posted to fa.printers on usenet. So at least
those people on usenet can subscribe as they see fit without having to
ask Mark Miller to change the list.
Being possibly somewhat redundant, I'd like a little feedback on what's
a good printer to buy. Requirements are: ordinary paper, at least 1200
baud, upper/lower case, and should be able to plot dots, with as high a
resolution as possible. (I would love to be able to simulate a 200
dot/inch Versatec, but I know better. I'll settle for what I can
get.) It has to be able to plot continuously, leaving holes between the
lines or characters is unacceptable. Cost must be under $2500, but I
would prefer something under $1500. Able to take 15 inch wide line printer
paper would be a big plus.
I've heard that the paper tiger and epson mx-100 are supposed to be in this
ballpark. Can anyone give me any feedback on these or other printers?
Can anyone tell me what the resolution of dots you can plot with these is?
I have the current "80 microcomputing" issue but their "buyers guide" is
little more than a price/feature checklist, and doesn't discuss dots at all.
