VT100s
>From gwyn@UTEXAS-11 Sat Jan 23 10:26:45 1982
VT100s also don't auto-repeat all keys, since DEC thought some of the
control keys would be safer that way.
With auto-newline on, the ANSI "INDEX" sequence does not stay in the
same column (microcode bug).
Certain screen editors would be happier with character insert.
However, in a commercial environment VT100s work better than any of
the dozen or so other terminals I've seen so situated.
Terminal (hardware) maintenance is very important to some.
VT100 is nicely modular.  We plug RetroGraphics into ours.
We all hope that DEC's terminal products group's next family of
videos will fix some of the omissions; VT100-lookalike vendors have
already fixed several.
