MASSbus controller for 750

The System Industries Series 9400 controller that I mentioned previously
is currently available only for the 780 MASSbus (as well as 11/70 Cache
Bus and all unibus).  Actually, it is NOT a Massbus controller;  it plugs
directly into the SBI and EMULATES a massbus.  Herein lies the gist of
DEC's suit;  does this constitute infringement of the MASSbus patent?
I don't know anything of the legalities involved, but I'd bet that SI
is saying that the specs are public and emulators are not infringement, etc.
Anyway, the guy from SI told me that they have two 780's and a 750 out in
california;  one 780 for internal DP and the other two machines for
development.  The 750 Massbus emulator should be out in the spring.
I believe it's safe to say there are no other foreign massbus controllers
on the market right now.
