When I learned UNIX there was a paper with the manual, at the
beginning of the manual called "UNIX Timesharing", which was a UNIX
tutorial.  I read the tutorial and then I read the C tutorial and
then I skimmed sections II and III (system calls and user subroutines)
and --presto-- I was a hacker on my way to being a wizard.
