Subject: HP terminal options
Via: HP-Labs; 26 Apr 82 18:43-EDT
HP has two new specials that people may be interested in.
All of these are for the 2622, 2623 and 2624.
K24 makes the function keys, ESC, BS, TAB, Back TAB, DEL, CAPS, CTRL, r Shift,
l Shift, ENTER and TAB and back TAB on the keypad, definable as any of the
functions in that set or a sequence of four characters. NULL is also selectable.K45 does the same thing to the keyboard, but also gives a Bit-Paired keyboard,
like the HP264X terminals. These cost an additional $200. on the terminal
price.
Now, they have done, for me here, an additinals Division will not do a retrofit on older 2622s and 2623s
because it requires adding a wire to the PC board, but maybe I can give out
this information if enough people are interested in retrofitting their
terminals. It would require ordering the ROM's from standard HP sources,
and I could give out the instructions and copy EPROMs for you. It takes
four new ROM's and an EPROM. 2624B's can be retrofited.
Rumors: They are doing a 2623 that is ANSI compatible (most of the VT100
functions, but not large characters) for alpha-numerics and control functions
and is Tektronix compatible for graphic functions. This is a special that is
in the works.
A color graphics 262x and 264x will be released this summer, maybe.
