A recent note appeared in fa.info-terms that appeared to come from
faunt@hp-labs. When I attempted to reply directly (over arpanet)
I found that "hp-labs" is not in our host table. Could you please
forward this, and let me know how to get their directly?
Thanks.
I read with interest your note (dated Feb 4) in the info-terms mailing
list. We (University of Wisconsin--Madison Computer Sciences Dept) have
lots and lots of HP 2621/A terminals. They are our terminal of choice
amoung the "higher-priced" class. (For cheapies, we use one or another
of the termials produced by Micro-term of St. Louis, such as the Act IV
or the Mime). I personally have a 2621 in my office and another at
home and I like them very much. The only thing I don't like is the
damn caps-lock key that is easy to hit by mistake, feels just like
any other key (so it's difficult to know you hit it) and gives no
visible indication of its state. However, it's very easy to remove or
disable, so it's no big problem.
We haven't started to use EMACS here, but a meta key might make it
more popular. I'd be very interested in anything you could tell
me about installing such.
Thanks.
Marvin Solomon (solomon@uwisc or ...ucbvax!uwvax!solomon).
