Re: EMACS/TELERAY/META/MODEM question
I'd like to know if I can interface a Vadic 3451 modem into a
TELERAY 1061 with a META key and run EMACS at 1200 baud (using
the META key) through a TIP? (pretty convoluted set of
requirements - huh?) Thanks.
Best thing to do is dial up (heh heh). Next best thing is to speak thusly
to the TIP:
@B I S
This puts you in binary mode, which, in addition to the desired effect of
letting META thru, has the perhaps undesirable effect that it lets the tip
intercept character (and everything else) through too, making it very hard
to do things like close connections. On MC, doing :GUEST5;BIE will exit
binary mode for you. I also have a little program, source now in
MC:GZ;BIE MID, which works on at least one TOPS-20. I haven't tried it on
XX though.
