Making EMACS into a top level
>From RYLAND@SRI-KL Thu Oct 29 11:35:19 1981
Several messages have appeared about using EMACS as a top-level.
Dave Kashtan of Fairchild has developed, under Eunice (not sure about
it's Unix state) a scheme whereby any process can live in a window.
This allows you, in particular, to have a shell (or VMS command
interpreter, under VMS) whose script is fully editable.

Of course, this was done some time ago in Multics Emacs by Bernie
Greenberg at al at MIT and Honewell CISL.  Someone also had a Multics
Emacs window which presented a supdup connection.
