       Betty:
In case you don't see my reply via netnews,it's because I just
joined and am still learning how to use it.
I assume you mean EDIT when you refer to the standard
CYBER editor. There is an editor known as CORECT which has been
billed as a "TECO-like editor". We had it at So. Meth. U. when
I was there(>3 years ago) and the last time I was in Dallas it seems
that they still had it.
CORECT appeared to be the editor of choice among knowledgeable
people, although there may be some overhead in learning it. CORECT is
basically a character-oriented editor, but it can be used as a line-
oriented editor as well (which is the way most people use it, I think).
The idosyncracy which I recall about CORECT is that is uses control-c
to delimit almost everything (commands,text,etc.).
I would suggest that you contact Kevin Brewer at the SMU CC
(tell him I said "Hi" and hope to see him around New Year's).
Alternatively, perhaps the folks at other CDC/CYBER sites
(e.g., Northwestern U.(Illinois),Purdue, U of Minnesota,etc.) may be
able to help you. My knowledge of CYBER editors is dated at best.
