formal study of editors
>From Admin.JQJ@SU-SCORE Thu Oct  8 17:30:29 1981
For those of you who are tired of rhetoric which reduces to "what's your
favorite editor", I would like to recommend an article I recently ran
across.  The authors attempt to survey some of the recent findings in
psychology and computer science which relate to editor design.  Noone
who is seriously interested in editors should miss this and the articles
it cites:

Embly, D.W. & Nagy, G. Empirical and Formal Methods for the Study of Computer
Editors. In Coombs, M.J., & Alty, J.L. (Eds.), Computing Skills and the
User Interface. (I don't know the publisher), 1981.

Those of you who have already read it, have you any comments or reviews for
the rest of us (I haven't had time to do more than skim it, yet, myself).
