As ArpaNet people start to convert to SMTP (along with TCP/IP), it
I almost hate to say this for fear of starting flaming, but I guess I
will say it anyway: I would not consider this protocol conversion to
be a reasonable solution to the problem of multiple copies sent to
non-XRCP sites, since it is not clear that any sites will in fact be
cutting over to TCP/IP. I realize that the DoD has legislated the
current protocols into obsolescence, but that doesnt mean that people
on the ARPAnet will really be cutting over when they are expected to.
I would encourage sites which have not done so to implement the
current protocol for dealing with this problem, XRCP, since no one
knows how many years it will really be before anyone is using the new
protocols on the ARPAnet.
