New CSNET Phonenet sites
From:      Dave Farber <FARBER@UDEL>
Two new sites are now accessable  via  Phonenet  as  part  of
CSNET.  They are the University of California at Irvine (UCI) and
the  first  of  the  industrial  sites  --  the  Hewlett  Packard
Laboratories (HP-Labs).

Mail may be sent  to  Phonenet-based  users  by  employing  a
three-part address of the form:

mailbox.phone-site at UDel

examples are:

laliotis.hp-labs at UDel
feldman.uci at UDel

There are plans to develop a  Name Server  for  CSNET.   Till
that  time,  a  temporary  directory  is  available  on the CSNET
Service Host.

The current list of CSNET Phonenet sites is:

Cornell
FCC-NET
HP-Labs
NSF-CS
Purdue
Princeton
UCI
Udel ( Delaware )

Additional Phonenet sites  will  be  connected  in  the  near
future. These will include New Mexico Tech, Univ of Penn, Georgia
Tech, Duke/UNC, Fairchild, and the Univ of Md.   It  is  expected
that  all  sites  with  applications  filed  before 1 Nov will be
online by mid March.

General  CSNET-related  questions   may   be   addressed   to
CSNET@UDel.   Questions  about  Phonenet  mail  relaying  may  be
addressed to Phonenet@UDel or:

Dave Farber (Farber at UDel) 302-738-1163
Dave Crocker (Dcrocker at UDel) 302-738-8913
