It feels like it's been a year since I've gotten any real sleep. Stress
dreams have been a thing for several months now, and while I do occasionally
get to enjoy a bit of dreamless sleep, those times are few and far between.

That said, I've been taking steps to try help my own mental health in that
regard. I dropped all social networking stuff a while back (including twtxt) to
try and purge its addictive qualities from my brain, and it's been much nicer.
I've started checking news sites less and less, relying less on YouTube and the
like for entertainment... Just relying less and less on the web as a whole, to
be honest. Like, I'll use the Internet Archive to read some books that I can't
easily access, or use something like Curlie[0] to look up topics instead of a
search engine (I miss DMOZ), but for the most part, I don't stay online nearly
as much as I used to.

Well, with the exception of gaming. I recently fell in love with an MMO by
the name of Trove[1]. It's a very simplistic action RPG with short dungeons and
lots of loot, but the community is fairly chill. And it's a bright and colorful
world, so unlike a lot of the depressing browns and greys I see among most MMOs
out there. Sadly, Linux support under Proton is iffy, but that's why I have a
gaming rig with Windows 10, where it runs mostly okay. It's also on the Switch,
XBox One, and PS4, so there are options.

And in regards to Linux, my Fedora install broke again after a failed update,
so I'm just going back to using a VM until I get a more compatible laptop. One
without an Optimus chipset, preferribly. I mean, I'm happy running Windows 7,
so I'm not exactly too miffed about the issue. Just need to set up some things
on a server VM on my gaming rig to make it even more usable, like local mail
storage, and maybe playing with tbamud[2] again. Or Fuzzball MUCK[3] on a
Windows Server VM... Hmm...

I think, after three stress dreams in a row, I'll try setting up somehting to
play with on the side. That MUD/MUCK server idea is starting to sound appealing
right about now.
