So, here I am again, sitting back in bed, writing a phlog post in vim while
I do very little. I've been frustrated with many things, but that's really not
the point of this post. The point is, I'm still around, just very quiet.
I'm back on Fedora on my laptop, and despite still not having a working
E-Port docking port for my dock, I can use the slice battery again. A lot of
other things are also back in working order, though I had to recompile
modplug123, and compiling libmodplug was a bigger pain since I'd forgotten how
it's done[0]. At this point, I'm just glad I wrote some notes for how to get my
system working, and saved them in my gitea repos.
I've also been itching to get back to learning to code, despite my better
judgement on getting into programming. Admittedly, I mostly want to learn just
for making my own changes to existing programs, not to write my own. Stuff like
Txtnish[1] (twtxt client in sed/awk/grep) and modplug123 (modtracker player
made in C) where I just want my own custom versions, or to pick up where the
creator left off when they dropped the project.
Oh, right. There's also the recent news regarding Firefox putting ads in the
Omnibar if you allow search suggestions[2]. I'm not happy about it, but
admittedly, I've slowly become a WebKit fan thanks to the likes of Falkon and
Epiphany, the latter being my browser of choice on Fedora. I'm still using the
fox on my Win10 gaming rig, but that's only because there isn't really a good
WebKit browser for Windows yet. Maybe if Epiphany gets a Windows build, I'll
switch to it, but until then, it's Firefox.
Oh yeah... There's also Surf[3]. Really need to give that one a try again
once I understand C a bit better.

[0]: Seriously, libmodplug lacks basic install documentation in their actual
git repo. I'm having to take to writing my own.
[1]: Admittedly, I want to work on Txtnix since it's in Perl, but I think using
some built-in stuff might be better for my sanity.
