As well as my other, web-based blog, I now have this gopher-based |

"phlog" to maintain, which means I have to write something. Many days |

I feel like dashing off a couple of paragraphs but don't get the time. |

I looked at the power cable nest next to the side of the desk this |

morning and tutted. So many cables that had been there for so long, |

with many now actually being redundant. But this is the "problem" with |

owning lots of Raspberry Pi's - each one needs an USB power cable, and |

Yep. I decided to do it. The day after moving the gopher server onto a |
|
NUC I decided to move the web server as well. Actually, that'll |
|
include the XMPP and MQTT servers as they all use the same SSL |
|
certificate. I've ordered a new NUC and that'll probably be my project |

*** 2019-12-01 Stress testing the new web server SSD *** |
|
|
|
The new web server SSD arrived today along with the memory. As the |
|
service level requirement will be high I decided to run Stressdisk on |
|
it. Looks like all seems to going well so far and the speeds look |
|
promising. We'll see what the results are like later - if all looks |
|
|

I'm pleased to say that the new SSD for the web site passed its |
|
12-hour stress test session, so all I need now is the barebones NUC |
|
box, and quite a lot of time. It's looking good though! |

Well, I'm pleased to say that the new WWW/XMPP/MQTT NUC server is up |
|
and running, although I still haven't made the commitment to switch of |
|
the old Raspberry Pi 3. One reason for this is that I didn't yet have |
|
a backup of the new server: it took me nearly a full day to set up and |
|

There was a rather long moment of panic over the weekend during which |

permanently) as I have backups, but the NUC holding the Gopher had a |
