TEN LITTLE CHRISTIANS

TEN ÿLITTLE CHRISTIANS, ÿstanding in a line. ÿOne ÿdidn't
like the preacher, then there were nine.

NINE LITTLE CHRISTIANS, stayed up very late. One slept on
Sunday morning, then there were eight.

EIGHT LITTLE CHRISTIANS, on the road to heaven. ÿOne took
the lower road, then there were seven.

SEVEN LITTLE CHRISTIANS, ÿgot in an awful fix. One didn't
like the music, then there were six.

SIX LITTLE CHRISTIANS, ÿseemed very much alive. ÿBut ÿone
lost her interest, then there were five.

FIVE LITTLE CHRISTIANS, wishing there were more. But they
quarreled with each other, then there were four.

FOUR ÿLITTLE CHRISTIANS, ÿcheerful as could be. ÿBut ÿone
lost his temper, then there were three.

THREE LITTLE CHRISTIANS, ÿknew not what to do. One joined
a sporty crowd, then there were two.

TWO LITTLE CHRISTIANS, our rhyme is almost done. Differed
with each other, then there was one.

ONE LITTLE CHRISTIAN, ÿwon her neighbor true. Brought her
with her to church, then there were two!

TWO EARNEST CHRISTIANS, each won more. That doubled their
number, then there were four!

FOUR SINCERE CHRISTIANS, ÿworked very late. ÿBut each won
another, so there were eight!!!!

EIGHT ÿSPLENDID ÿCHRISTIANS ÿ- But ÿnothing ÿrhymes ÿwith
"sixteen", ÿÿso we simply note that in seven more ÿjingles ÿthere
would be one thousand and twenty-four Christians, ÿwhich would be
quite a crowd!!!!
