Ok, I had been planning comfy3 for a while. I actually did prep
this time around. I've been working on a playlist ever since the
release of comfy#2, and on an intro. I wasn't quite ready to release
anything yet, BUT today tomasino pointed out in the 'ol comfy
hangout that Lou Ottens, inventor of the audio cassette tape has
passed away. What better day to release a comfy tape. I ended up
making this release as somewhat of a commemoration to Lou. As
always, recorded to tape, and back to digital.
Given the change of thematic, not a whole lot of the original
playlist I had so carefully prepared survived. I ended up switching
out a lot of stuff. The intro did remain mostly intact, but I ended
up replacing the (comfy-tape-traditional) hidden message with one
that is more pertinent.
All in all, it ended up a lot more toned down, somber, in some
ways- but also more mellow than I had intended, making this probably
the comfiest of the comfy tapes so far. I did try to end things on a
positive note with a short uplifting bit of JB Lully's opera Atys.
That said, I also fucked up really really bad. I have 2 of the
same songs on side B as there is on side A. I don't know how that
happened. I was working on this whilst also working on other stuff,
and I guess it just shows what multi-tasking gets you. I'm leaving
in my mistakes for authenticity's sake, because you know, there are
no mistakes. Only happy little TRAGIC DISASTERS!
So there's an Arcana song, I think - i forget the title, I'll look
it up later and fix this .txt file; that ended up on there twice.
And the Sopor Aeternus song as well. Woops.
