I'LL FUTZ WITH IT

Man, have I been miserable about keeping up with this phlog!  No excuses.  I've
been busy and all that stuff.  I will endeavor to do better, and all THAT stuff.

I released "Driving With Eddie" this week, and have gotten some kind feedback on it
already.  Deepgeek was his usual supportive self, and I always appreciate it.
Pokey in the IRC said some nice stuff, too; and I actually did an interview with
Klaatu for his show, "GNU World Order".  I dunno when that will be released, but it
was flattering to be asked.  We talked more about "Blue Heaven", I think, than we
did "Eddie", but I got no complaints.  Klaatu was gracious, and generous with his
time.

Speaking of "Blue Heaven", I submitted it for the Parsec Awards today
(http://www.parsecawards.com/), which is a speculative fiction podcasting award
organization/ceremony held at the Dragon*Con Convention in Atlanta Georgia.  There
are many categories.  I put "Blue Heaven" in for "Best Speculative Fiction Story
(Short Form)".  There's a LOT of competition, so I expect exactly nothing to come
of it, but, hey, it doesn't hurt to try.

I more-or-less finished writing my next Eddie K script yesterday, though I'm sure
I'll futz with it as I go along.  I'm not recording it as my next Dramatic Audio
Media piece anyway.  Actually, I don't exactly know what to record next.  I have
ideas, but no strong preferences.  Originally I was going to do "The Ballad Of The
Pirate Princess" -- and I still MAY do that next, just to keep working -- but that
one will need a lot more than just the audio in place before it's ready to roll
out.  To an extent, I want it to be an audio-visual experience, with original
artwork and music.  Structured as a movie of a sort, hopefully it will look and be
viewed like a children's picture book.  If you remember the old "Reading Rainbow"
show, I think you'll understand what I'm shooting for.

The next actual SCRIPT I'll be working on, though (as "Pirate Princess" is fully
ready to be recorded, I think), will be an adaptation of my SF short story,
"Motherload".  I'm shooting for a full-cast audio drama on this one, which will act
as an intro to the "Stardrifter" universe, wherein I plan to set future stories.
Rather than go for a regular series with those, I was thinking of doing one that
consists of a bunch of stories set in the same future, strung together with the
same central character.  Each tale consists of major events in the character's
life, rather than a linear depiction of his day-to-day adventures.  "Motherload"
concerns space pirates (hey, I LIKE pirates), while other stories will cover
different events in his life.

Time to get cracking, I guess.  It's nice to have projects.
