It has been some time since I gave my burrow a good cleaning. By
cleaning, I mean looking through a lot of the programs which drive
the phlog and other gopher services hosted here.
Changing the server software gave me reason to start poking around
and, as often happens. You start finding bugs or other things that
in your present mind you can not accept.
This leads to fixing things in such a way that the present you can
reconsile. Before you know it you are deep in the rabbit hole.
There was an issue with the new gopher server logging, it was
mangling the ipv6 addresses due to my poor initial attempt to split
on ':'. The polling program too had some problems, it should have
been ordering the polls by most recently active, but it wasn't.
There really is too much to remember and list but I should probably
leave things to settle for a few days before I go digging in there
again, as maybe I have broken other things in the process.
I have also been at it for the majority of the day...
