| The Floodgap Free Software License (FFSL) is the standardized | |
| end-user license agreement for both binary and source | |
| distributions of many free software packages here at Floodgap. It | |
| may also be used for other packages that Floodgap does not | |
| maintain. | |
| The overriding concern behind the FFSL is to ensure that software | |
| declared gratis ("free as in beer") remains gratis: not that | |
| profit can't or shouldn't be made from the use of FFSL-covered | |
| packages, but that they should not be sold for a fee, nor should | |
| a fee be charged to use or modify them. As this is a different | |
| focus than many other free software licenses, you are urged to | |
| study the license terms carefully for software packages you | |
| intend to use that are offered under the FFSL. | |
| The current FFSL release is given below. You may always access it | |
| from this page, or | |
| via HTTP. | |
| This document is currently only available in English. If you have | |
| questions regarding the FFSL, please send mail to | |
| [email protected] | |
| Questions regarding a particular software package should be | |
| addressed to that package's maintainer. | |
