Have attached a new training module that I have developed for work. It's
contains the lowdown on a number of aspects of the Internet that can be a
bit difficult to grasp. It is not meant for experts, but is a
continuation of the first Module.

It's easy to follow, and installation instructions are included. It's not
a stack, or an application, just a formatted series of Claris HomePage
HTML doc's that do a bit of explaining.

InterMod 1r3 has now been translated into more than 10 languages by
enthusiasts around the world, and is available on sites everywhere. It

Sorry for the repost, but there was a slight misunderstanding of my
previous post.
So here is a slightly revised edition that should clear up that
misunderstanding.
For anyone having trouble using EasyView as a means of reading the Listserv
of comp.sys.mac.digest this FAQ is for you.

A. Software requirements:

Eudora 1.5.3 or Eudora 1.5.4.
EasyView 2.6.1 (shareware)
PPP or SLIP connection

B. Assuming you are already getting the archive by e-mail from one of the
listservs that distributes it you will want to do to do the following -
   1. In the Finder - Be sure that the document with the "V" icon and name

This is the latest edition (Jan 1, 2000) of the Mac-FTP-list.

The Mac-FTP-list lists over 150 mac anonymous ftp sites (some with notes),
over 110 Mac web pages, and contains some instructions on how to use anonymous
ftp and find files as well a format chart showing which programs decompress
and decode which files.  Also there is a section on how to use certain files.

This archive contains both the text and html versions of
the Mac-FTP-list.

To ensure that the columns in the Format Chart section line up correctly the
document's text must be in a monospaced font such as Courier 10pt, Monaco 9pt,
or a PC equivalent.

Mac INIT Strings 2.0

Mac INIT Strings is a freeware utility that displays a list of modem
INITialization strings categorized by manufacturer and model. All of the
strings are meant for use with a Macintosh computer. Version 2.0 now
allows you to test an INITialization string with the modem currently
connected to your Macintosh computer.

This requires the use of the Apple Serial Tool which is part of the
Apple Communications ToolBox (CTB). The installer will place a copy of
the Serial Tool in your Extensions Folder requiring you to restart your
machine after the installation process is complete.

Mac INIT Strings was built with Mac OS 8 and is therefore, Mac OS
8-compatible. You will need at least System 7.1 and 4 MB of physical
(installed) memory in order to use Mac INIT Strings.

Since Mac INIT Strings is freeware, you agree to use the utility at your
own risk by reading this document. MRD offers no technical support for
this utility by e-mail, facsimile nor telephone. If you do however, have
comments on Mac INIT Strings, please feel free to e-mail MRD at
[email protected].

* If you find an INITialization string that does not work correctly,
please send an e-mail to [email protected].

* If you know of an INITialization string that is missing from the Mac

To owners of PowerMac 7200, 7500, 8500, 9500 here is a solution to those
terrible type 11 errors experienced with OpenTranport 1.0.8*.

* Some may not have any problems, and thus should ignore this FAQ.  However
if you do switch providers be aware that some providers have a terrible
time supporting OpenTranport 1.0.8, and therefore in those cases use this
FAQ.
