Release Notes             AMADEUS Version 0.81 Beta            11/09/94 tdieting

New Features
------------

o new commands:

o enhancements:

o text saving supports exporting to RTF
   o PCX image format supported

Bug Fixes
---------

o generating of text-links should work exactly now
o 'SAVE' within collection browser disabled
o bug in the goto-command removed (prevented to go to a collection)

Known Bugs/Shortcomings
-----------------------

o The following functions are not implemented yet:

   cut                     (Edit)
   copy                    (Edit)
   paste                   (Edit)
   set bookmark            (Navigation)

o The user interface still needs improvement.

o Text Viewer: does currently not display inline images.

o Image Viewer: does not support links yet
           Dithering speed should be improved

o others: Due to a bug in Win32s, the Win32s-subsystem will crash, if
you open too many external viewers simultanously (depending on the
built-in memory (eg. 8MB: not more than 3 viewers ...)
This problem will disappear when most viewers are contained within
         the main module.

o gopher gateway: currently only text-/image documents and Gopher-Search
are supported (sound, ... will follow)

o WWW gateway: Due to limitations in the text viewer, inline images are
              currently not displayed.

              Forms are not supported.

o WAIS gateway: does still not work correctly (fix scheduled for Nov. '94)

o PC/TCP 2.2: MultiMedia documents cause a crash with this version, but
             PC/TCP 2.3x works perfectly

Note: The hostname of your PC must be listed in the TCP/IP host file
(Otherwise the document cache server can't connect to the PC !)

similar to a WWW home page (but with more features)
There you can specify "direct links" to all internet protocols, that
Amadeus supports, including Hyper-G servers themselves (to select one as
     your home server).
This also enables you to use Amadeus WITHOUT a Hyper-G server (if there
is no one yet available in the near surrounding), although you won't be
able to use all the impressive features Hyper-G would support.

Time schedule:

   * ..... really soon (Version 1.0)

*** ...  sometime during the next year (Version 2.0)

Note: This is a suggested time schedule, as well its priority, as its content
     can change !
